A 2007 Visit to Ft. Johnson. Naomi and I (Dave Crosby) moved to Enoch from SLC in July of 2000, the year after I retired as an IBEW Electrician. My health improved and by 2007 I was driving around learning Enoch's history, following Luella Dalton's information. When I got to Old Enoch the residents were friendly and eager to share what they knew. The central part of the village was at the junction of the road from Summit with the road to Cedar City, right at the spot where the springs supplied their water. They built a concrete tank perhaps 4 feet wide and deep and 40-50 feet long, with pipes in the bottom leading to each home. Several years before my visit Enoch donated the land around Jone Iron works as a place for school children to learn about local plants. The Love Bug was placed on top of the old water tank for their entertainment. When the teacher left, the idea died. The top of the old water tank is just below the V-dub. I asked "Where was Ft. Johnson?" "Oh, that's easy, just look west for the old cotton woods." And there it was. Now, How to Get There?
