TIME could be divided up into Before ROLLO and After ROLLO.
Before Rollo, the King owned all the land and sub-let it out to his "nobles" who in turn loaned it out to the surfs.
After Rollo, the king owed his power to the Military who divided the land up among his leaders who leased it out to the workers.[/div]
From what we can deduce (he may have been born later and/or died earlier) Sir Crosby was probably born around 930 AD in Picardi France, raised among Rollo's followers, and led his own group of Norman warriors.
He led his group to Northumbria England circa 950 AD where the king gave him and his followers a large tract of land.
We will know his full name if we can find the records the Domesday Book was transcribed from.
