Modifying a Lortone Slab Saw

When you let the saw get really bad I have a hard time recovering the oil it seam like it takes forever to drain out and I lose alot of oil that way.

You have been sent 4 pictures.

I only use light-weight mineral oil.
The heavier the oil, the harder it is to separate.

After draining about 1 1/2 gal, I add soft water (rain), stir, then let it set.



The dirt and water get together and look like cottage cheese.

When the oil comes to the top, pour it off into a one gallon jug, then take the remaining "cottage cheese" and pour into a very porous pillow slip and let drain.

In one or two days I have my oil back, the jug ready for next time, and just dirt in the pillow case.
If there is some water in the oil I put it in a jug to use in the next batch, reusing the water too.
