WILLIAM CROSBY
SON OF ROBERT PHILIP AND HELEN CROSBIE
I have been searching for 4 of the Children of Robert Philip and Helen (Spowart) Crosbie
I was trying to locate where Robert born 1875 Almy, Wyoming, John born 1877 Almy, Wyoming, Josiah 1882-1882 Leamington, Utah, and William born Leamington, Utah are buried?
By Marjorie Crosby Sanchez
It has been my desire that I find Robert’s family and where those children are laid to rest. My husband Raymond and I took time searching for them, hoping to find each one. We traveled to Almy, Wyoming, to Leamington, to Deseret, to Mona, and onto Sunnyside, Utah. We never did find the grave sites.
In Deseret we found the fort which was made of dirt clay bricks and a line of old houses for the railroad workers and families. We enjoyed this trip very much.
We would walk each cemetery in hopes of finding just one of their children. But as the trips went on, we never did locate one of them.
Does anyone know or have stories of where they might be?
William Crosby
7 December 1889 - Leamington, Millard, Utah
8 January 1904 - Sunnyside, Carbon, Utah
I was at work when I received a phone call from the Sun Advocate newspaper in Price, Utah. The reporter was doing research which she was asking questions and I was answering to the best of my knowledge. One of those was about Robert and Helen's son William Crosby and did I know anything at all surrounding his death. Of course I answered “No”. She then proceedes to tell me about his death in the Sunnyside Mine No 2 in Carbon County, Utah.
I new Robert moved his family to Sunnyside, Carbon, Utah, a mining town, south of Price and Wellington, Utah, to work in the mines there. But I did not know that on January 8, 1904 a mining accident occurred involving a child. They used his belt as a tourniquet to place around the child’s wound and carried him out of the mine and transported him to the hospital. He lived long enough to say good-bye to his mother.

The following is his story and articles that were emailed to me from the reporter of the Sun Advocate.

Cody of Coroner's Verdict: An inquest having been held at Sunnyside, in Sunnyside Precinct, Carbon County, State of Utah, on this second day of January, 1904, before William Hill, Justice of the Peace, in Sunnyside Precinct, in said County, upon the body of William Crosby, there lying dead, by the Jurors whose names are hereunto subscribed.
The said Jurors upon their oath do say, that William Crosby came to his death according to the evidence through accident, and though no fault of any party or parties, being away from his line of duty at the head of the trip.
NOTE: I took time to find and research as well to find the information. Felt strongly that Robert Philip Crosbie Family was not going forgotten.

To understand what a Tripper does I recommend watching these two videos.
